Aberporth is located 6 miles North-east of Cardigan on the B4333. Originally a fishing and farming community, this was a centre of the herring industry as the sheltered waters of Cardigan Bay provided ideal spawning grounds.

Today, Aberporth is a relatively undiscovered paradise for water sports enthusiasts - safe bathing, sailing, canoeing and surfing can all be enjoyed here. Adventure boat trips are available in Summer but if staying ashore, children will like the beach or dabbling in the exposed rock pools.

You might choose to brave the cliff walks and while away the time looking out for seals and bottlenose dolphins ˆ there have even been rare sightings of turtles.
